Taxis at airport

You probably mean " go up to the Departure Level" ( Level 4)

I made the same experience: Do not take a taxi on the arrival level. Departure Level 4 is much quicker and sometimes ( without meter) cheaper because taxi driver´s do not need to wait for the next guest.

Survaninboomiboomboom airport? Whats all this about bangkok? some of us want to go elsewhere like Pattaya.

Its 1800 to Pattaya but 800 from Pattaya to Suvaniboom-what ever. Its a rip of,-- always has been and always will be,-- blatent corruption that welcomes you to country of blatent corruption.

Try getting a taxi from Utapao, they wont even tell you how much it is.

You should have been here 20 years ago, you would get into a taxi at don-muang and ask specifically if the taxi will take you to Pattaya --oh yes sir. 2 Km down the road and he would pull into another taxi rank and sell you. You would then be asked to get out and get into another taxi .

You would be asked to pay for the petrol as he had no money, this would be deducted from the fare. I had a taxi driver once that was sniffing acetone (nail polish remover) and one that had an accident because he was drunk.

Trying very hard to make it all look professional,-- it might help if the Taxis that turned up for a fare had fuel in them. It appears that almost everytime I get in one and he finds out he has to go to Pattaya he points at the the fuel guage and then insists that as he has LPG and has to go to a station 20 kl North of the airport.

I once had one that was so exhausted he stopped at a gas station for a sleep while I sat in the back. He invited me to drive, which I did. He was fast asleep on our arrival.

I dont think Thailand can ever do anything professionally.

Mike Chan,
Next time you come into BKK airport, just take the escalator up to the arrival floor and catch a taxi as it is dropping off passengers.
No wait, no lines, just your are out of there and the taxi driver is happy to get a fare with out having to go to the parking lot.

I also agree even on my first visit to BKK last year I worked out no queue at departures too hot to be standing about wth slip of paper waiting on a fair!

Although we did have issues with the odd driver over the meter's its simple to hop out and into another one!

My friend from the U.S. just arrived the 17th and paid 400b to come to my house which only costs 140b normally.
The taxi drivers have a liscense to steal. Perhaps Abhisit should hire a taxi at the airport.
