IN A TUK TUK WHILE RAISING MONEY FOR CHARITY
On November 30th, 2012, Chang Beer launched a global Facebook campaign recruiting 3 brave adventurists to join a fully sponsored 2-week adventure driving a Rickshaw, better known as a Tuk Tuk, 4750km across exotic India, representing Team Chang Beer. The prize includes flights for all 3 of the winners, daily allowances, and entry fee. This Facebook campaign brings to life Chang’s passionate brand motto “Live Like You Mean It!” and Chang Beer aims to inspire people from around the world to ‘live like they mean it’ and the brand takes the role of facilitators for the young or young at heart, the brave, and pioneering as they embark on this once in a lifetime adventure they will remember and want to talk about for years to come.
Then, at the beginning of February 2013, after many stages of selection process through dozen of candidates, the announcement was made where three Chang Beer fanatics (Christopher Byrd from the United States, Zaya Badrakh from Mongolia, and Jack Ryan from the United Kingdom) won their place in Team Chang Beer. The three flew into Cochin, India on April 3rd, 2013 and made preparations for the adventure which began April 7th, 2013.
As part of the Chang Beer Team travel pack, they have a telephone, 2 computers, lots of camera equipment, a local map, a compass and a medical kit among other things. With very few days for preparation and Tuk Tuk pimping Team Chang Beer is off on their adventure like no other, from Cochin to Shillong, India over the next 2 weeks or so.
Friends, families and other adventure loving Chang Beer fans can be part of the journey through their coming videos uploads to hear how they got on, what they have to say about the ride and one another, and at the end of the drive, to see if they gave you some thought of what you expected would happen. Facebook fans will also have a chance to join a Sweepstakes and win countless Chang Beer prizes as they follow the campaign throughout April and May 2013.
The taste of adventure will not only be experienced by the Chris, Zaya, and Jack driving for Team Chang Beer 2013. All fans and followers will feel they are part of the journey every step of the way. This campaign is not only about setting an example of how you can stand up, go out and ‘Live Like You Mean It,’ it also gives back to the community. As part of Chang Beer’s entry in the Rickshaw Run 2013 a donation will be made to Frank Water Projects (http://www.frankwater.com), the official Rickshaw Run charity. The Frank Water Projects aims to provide safe drinking water to those most in need in the Indian community. Chang Beer has also chosen to raise awareness for Operation Smile Thailand (http://thailand.operationsmile.org/), an organization that repairs cleft lip and facial deformities in children in Thailand. The brand aims to raise as much awareness and money as possible for Operation Smile to help put smiles back onto the children’s faces.
