hi ian ,by now you will know you and i are on the same wavelength , but what i can,t realy understand is the many guys i,ve spoke to over the years ,guys with big plans who rush headlong into the unknown just to impress there lady and her family, which nearly always ends in tears , many ask me what i do for a liveing because i have a good lifestyle , my answer is always the same ,absolutly nothing ,just sit back and count the tax free intererest , i,ve no stress , i sleep like a log at night , i fail to comprehend why a guy who comes to thailand after working in many cases for 45 years should want to start all over again just to provide his wifes family with a passport to lifelong easy liveing ,of course the farang has to cough up a million baht dowery for the honour of doing so!!,are these guys for real ,regards ,colin .

hi sardines , ya know i,ve friends back in the uk who can buy and sell me 10 times over and still have a million pounds change ,and yet they NEVER go on holiday and the main topic of there conversation is work and business , what a miserable life ,i started work at 15 years old with one intention in life and that was to make enough so i did,nt have to work no more , i retired at 57 with only one regret and that is i should have done so 7 years earlier ,regards ,colin .

My original plan was to retire at 45, however, I made a bad decision and had to wait until I was 53. I worked, part time, off and on until I was 61, the job was so much fun, but things tend to change and I find full retirement a real pleasure.
