When I first come in Pattaya
Re: When I first come in Pattaya
Still, I have given Pattaya a bit of a drubbing this morning, and I sense a need to clarify my own statements.
Firstly, I don't look at Pattaya nor Nana Plaza nor Soi Cowboy nor Patpong as a part of traditional contemporary Thailand, but more as commercial sort of precincts, there to cater for the entertainment needs of tourists. I believe that the origin of Pattaya's naughty nightlife industry might have been from the naval base in Sattahip and Utapao airport, but these are my own uneducated opinions.
It is natural for men and women to be attracted to each other, and a tour of duty on a naval vessel full of men might be a bit like a term of imprisonment, where the moment your foot first touches solid ground and freedom, there's naturally one thing on a sailor's or ex-convict's mind; women.
Nothing wrong with that if certain rules are adhered to, I guess.
Perhaps now though, the subtle and discreet aspects of a good thing might have been pushed a little too far, but I'm honestly thinking as I type, and can probably find a better way to put my own opinions in writing with a little time to think.
I did honestly sense something that seemed not quite like most of the rest of Thailand in the times when I've been in the shopping centre up on Sukhumvit just north of the Jomtien turn off, and all around Pattaya. Possibly a case of being suddenly looked at by others as a tourist, where I'd been used to being seen by others as an ordinary human being in the other tambons I've lived in. It's is difficult to describe this feeling in words, but there is something about Pattaya that I personally reckon might be a little bit too hollywood for my liking.
I'll try to think of a better way to put this opinion later today.

I'm a bit bad when I am here! Many thing stuff here, people, city, etc. lol
I would rather be in Pattaya now than here in Perth where I am, but still, if you ride down Sukh. to Mapthaphut and turn left onto Thanon 3191 that heads up to Nikhom Pattana and Pluak Daeng Dam, you'll reach Tambon Mabkha which is just past Thanon 36, and that's a place that I reckon is a lot more South-East Thailand than Pattaya.
As well as that though, a few of my friends have moved from Mabkha to Pattaya over the years in search of restaurant or factory work, and there's a lot of good people there. Just take away all the tourists and it would be perfect IMHO.

I'm really sad when I know about this because Thai girl in general don't like to be prostitute or work in bar or club but some girl no education or even poor so please understand them and poor them not insulting them!!!
Pattaya is over priced and not representative of Thailand as a whole. If there were no ladies there selling their wares then there would be few tourists as the beaches are not very good.

You should go to Phuket ,--Everything is far more expensive there than in Pattaya. No Hotels in Phuket for 300 baht.

You will not find a hotel in Pattaya for 300 baht a night. You might find some shi t room above a bar for that with a fan. Cheap hotels in Pattaya start from about 600-700 baht. Phuket is seriously expensive and I do not go there, the rest of Thailand where tourists do not hang out is fairly cheap. Pattaya is expensive, many bars charging the same prices and more than bars in the UK.

Strange though it may seem to some, tourist sites would be a little devoid of people if it wasn't for the tourists (foreigners)
Cities do not attract sex, people do. (perhaps within cities)
For someboby who doesn't want to know much about it, you seem to know a lot. Is that from first-hand experience (nothing like a good "hands on" experience I suppose) or just here-say?
Your final paragraph is positively insulting in a negative way!
Flylow, your comments are such an enlightenment. You worked professionally in Thailand for two years and are an expert on both the current subject and "farangs" in general. I am not even going to try to phathom out what your professional dealings were about. (Perhaps you were flying so low it could be considered sub-terrainian)
All classes are educated. Unfortunately, common sense cannot be tought,(taught, tort , whatever, you know what I meen LOL) only gained.
I think the tourists "came" before the ladies, otherwise ther would be no reason for the ladies to be there in the first place! (unless the uneducated ladies decided to make it a tourist spot first just to attract the tourists)
