Rip Off Thai Boxing Stadiums

Rip Off Thai Boxing Stadiums

Postby Suttisan on Mon May 18, 2009 3:55 pm

Hi, I went to Lumpini last night with a friend who is here on holiday as he thought he would enjoy the kick boxing there. Anyway, we were told we would have to pay 2000 baht each in order to gain entry, despite being told on the phone it would cost 500 each for sitting in the middle section. The woman was really rude and my friend wasn't prepared to pay 40 pounds to watch it, he commented that it was racist as Thai or Thai looking people just had to pay 500 baht to get, and I agree with him.

My friend commented that you could see a premiership football game for the same amount of money, but the woman said you couldn't have a picture taken with a premiership footballer but you could have a pic taken with a Thai boxer, I did point out that comparing some no mark kickboxer to a premiership footballer was laughable, and you had to pay in order to have a picture taken with the fighters anyway. The woman just smiled.

Anyway, I think this racist pricing system should be abandoned, the Thai boxing stadium didn't make any money out of me and my friend last night, I would suggest others to boycott these places until they charge the same for everyone.

It's merely Thailand's latest initiative to obtain "foreign investment" in Thailand.

Scy doesn't just not understand English, he can't even write it properly which for an English teacher is tragic
It's not that his keyboard has no upper case because he can SHOUT OK
This isn't the first piece of English humour he's taken seriously, he's rapidly becoming the joke of the forum
German's aren't exactly famous for their comedians (with a few notable WW2 exceptions) or their sense of humour
GSOHs are pretty thin on the ground in the Teutonic culture

To be honest if you come to Thailand this is what you come to expect. Go anywhere, Wat Pho, Tiffany shows in pattaya and bangkok, Grand Palace. If you can read Thai you will see it in a lot of places. Aquarium in Siam area and now some wats in more tourist areas. Funny though i saw a pharmacy near the river and hear the Hilton hotel (I think) where they had written in Thai "we do not charge foreigner prices" but this was probably aimed at the thai people who live there. i live in a Thai area so I always get charged Thai prices.

Listen to the national anthem Thailand for Thai people. Thai political party thai love thai.

Thailand is a great place and I love living here but you have to accept that Thai people see you as a person who has lots of money. You not thai, you not have to work for your money, it come bby magic and thai peole want it.

Not a problem really don't give your money away easily. But if you really want to see the boxing you have to pay. End of story. as they say here "up to you"

In Thailand just copy Thai people do what ever you want and hope no one catches you.
