China Rescues Thailand's High Season Lows?

China Rescues Thailand's High Season Lows?

Postby gladallovva on Thu Aug 13, 2009 2:18 am

Experts say that the tourism industry in Thailand will eventually recover, in line with the global
economy, and that tourists will return in greater numbers attracted by the sun, sea and competitive prices of most holiday expenses - food, hotels, excursions. They say the world does not focus on Thailand’s weaknesses and day-to-day problems but rather tourists want cheap holidays in the sun, free from danger and the problems of the world. Airport scams, petty hustlers and political woes just don’t register in the world’s press they say. You just can’t beat the inexpensive joys that Thailand offers, they say. And I guess they are right. I mean, look at the options! And one billion Chinese need somewhere closer to home to spend their new-found wealth and assert their new economic status. Don't sell your hotel just yet!

:o & .......Umm, I must hope your correct. Why? Because I did have an airplane ticket to Thailand, after the airport was shut off, then the other one, I decided not to come. This resulted in desaster for my personal planned future and so I felt a need to make this comment. Yes, some people "register", and do change their plans!
I just hope Thailand has a good and better future.

Report this.......Lows?

As proven the experts were wrong, there are more files of hotel bankruptcy now ever know to Thai history including unemployment in the hospitality industry. Many from Hong Kong did come but it was a far cry to save the tourist industry, the last I heard even the floating market was down to a few vendors.Fact is the high season proven to be as the low season...Vietnam is rolling out the red carpet, with out the double pricing and gem scams reputation of maybe Tais once again will value their guest rather to target them in their scams.

Thais should not be hood winked into thinking Chinese tourists will rescue them during high seasons lows  . The reason for a situation that's contributing to a major fall off in tourism and harming the economy is evident to everyone and until it's resolved. THERE'LL BE NO SUCH THING AS A TOURISM QUICK FIX OR FREE LUNCH  !
