When a protest succeeds and is peaceful, the government tends to overlook the problems the protest caused because the protesters usually have public support and support within the government as the protesters views become the new consensus view eliminating the need for further protests. Since there were no further protests there was no need to arrest anyone.

When a protest fails and becomes violent, the violence threatens public order. The government viewed the red shirts as an ongoing problem and uses arrests to stop the red shirt leaders from formenting further unrest.

Sophistocated enough?

When is this bs. about "peaceful" PAD going to end? Aren't we all very tired of hearing the same lie over and over? Haven't we discussed this about a million times, and here we are again hearing the same propaganda? Maybe some of us have been watching too much ASTV and nothing else, so they are not aware of what really had been going on around the real world. This is very sad indeed.

But hey, it is very sophisticated logic. So sophisticated that normal people won't understand unless they are wearing some yellow space helmets. As for us normal people, aren't we just looking for some simple logic? Is that too much of a challenge?

Go think really hard about your arguments. Here is mine:- When you do something wrong like closing the airports and stranding 300,000 passengers and causing roughly 300 billion baht in damages to the tourism industry and make Thailand the laughing stock of the world, you are wrong. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether the other side is wrong or not. I am not defending the Reds, mind you. I never did. They are wrong too and should face the consequences of their crimes. But I think the OP is simply asking why the yellows are not punished yet? He is not looking for any "sophisticated" answer. Fact is, after 19 months the PAD have never been charged even by the police yet. That is the idiocy of the the situation.

By the way, there was never any concensus or public support about the PAD protest, except from the government, because they knew the PAD helped put them in power. But if you think stealing power through some silent coup is ok and democratic, that is your problem. They took away your power as a Thai citizen and you don't even know it. They are saying to your face that you are too stupid to vote, so they will "appoint" someone for you and you still think it is ok? Sad! Sad! Sad!

And I know your next argument is going to be about Thaksin and his evil plan. I have heard it about a million times too. Just keep it.

Really all we arguing here is about justice of injustice. When two brothers did something wrong one left with heavy punishment and another let to go free one would feel injustice. When children learn bad lesson from their parents all they will get is anarchy & rebel. Why did society try to stop parents smacking their children because they believe that physical violence doesn’t work. So why we use violence against violence as we all have seen in street of Bangkok it only brings down destructions and not peace. And yet some of you show us here that you encouraging bad parenthood to our society.

So we are here to voice our discontent and disapprove with this government. If they want to lead us like good parents then they must not and should not show us the injustice.

Someone saying you are too stupid to vote and your vote doesn't count, so they took it away through some coups, and you believe them, and you are smarter?

The problem with this world is the one who is more stupid always think he is smarter because he doesn't even know what he doesn't know. (How is that for "sophisticated" philosophy?)

I'd rather be stupid and don't believe them.
