"Non active duty's"

Postby taurus on Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:59 am

Since first coming here to Thailand in 89 I have lost count of the times I have read about some person "suspected" of some misdemeanor or gross dereliction of duty ,some involving vast sums of money being put on "non active dutys" ,the way I view matters you are either guilty or Innocent ,if found guilty it should be a straight forward dismissal and prosecution , If found Innocent they should be allowed to carry on with their duty,s as normal , could this be some sort of face saving exercise for those believed "too Important" to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law? , in closing I just wonder how many thousands there are on "non active duty's" that are receiving the same salary and pension rights to those who are considered "up to the job", funny old world ain't it

HI Taurus,

My way of thinking about this is simple...Who gets to the rank of these positions and why?....nepotism? You can hardly prosecute because it will eventually backfire on someone who can't be touched...so stick them in non-active positions and all is well.

I would like to explain more but I think I have said enough for you to understand...

Yeah Promee , fair comment and fully understood , but it hardly promotes good "housekeeping" do's it ,if there is no threat of losing your job and the "perks" that could well go with it then there is no incentive to do the job to the best of your ability's is there ,it would appear this is of no importance here in Thailand

I must admit I had to look up what nepotism meant but it sure seem accurate.
... .

Nepotism? Everything's relative.
(from a local political cartoon).

This is a pattern that's been used for decades in Thailand
Time for change, thats one thing I like about Mr Abhisit,he vows for justice.
Golden rule #1 always watch what they do and not what they say, empty words are so much easier than actual deeds , IMHO true justice is totally unachievable here just so long as those who are perceived to be in "high places" are somehow deemed to be "above the law"
