Taurus, my 2 cents worth of contribution on your comment.
I think 2 scenarios on Phea Thai winning the election and Chalerm kept his word to bring back Taksin. But first, with the party switches of MPs, it is not a done deal that PT will win. Still BJT is the dark horse and no guarantee that they will stay with the Democrat Party or drift back to the arms of Taksin. However if PT win and an unrepentant Taksin back, no doubt the PAD will surface. But I feel that the massive support they have before will not materialised. Bangkokians have seen too much damage if they play politics and most will not participate next time around. Also the tough military action by Ahbisit has set a precedent which the next government will follow with less objections. Middle class Bangkokians have no stomach for life threatening escapades. Without the mass support, self serving elites will not have the moral reasons to do their dirty laundry. I am not saying that the PT will have a happy & peaceful 4 years as there will be other form of demonstrations.
The other sceanrio is that PT win and Taksin with age is catching up and an urge to return back to Thailand, decide to comply with the law and abide by the judiciary decisions and hope for a royal pardon. With a royal pardon, none will have the guts to raise any protests. Chalerm made way for a much suitable PM and we may see some peace making efforts to iron out the differences. Pipe dream maybe but can happen.

Yeah Eric, I find no fault with your summing up, and as you rightly say, I like you think that the BKK'S HAVE HAD A "BELLY FULL" of the likes of what took place in May and I just hope lessons can be learned from this tragedy!!Eric wrote:Thong, I think the need for a National Government has passed over post Rajaprasong. At its height, it does seem that a NG is really necessary to difuse the very tense situation. Now that the situation has cooled down considerably and the ruling government has no pressure to consider a NG.

Eric wrote:Thong, I read your reply on NG and find that totally unoffensive. That the adminstrator thought otherwise, baffle me. Just to add that most time in history, NG was formed during crisis like war. There is 1 exceptional of a NG formed due to economic crisis. Perhaps if the budget hits an impasse and affects the economy, there may be cause for a NG. But still think the ruling government will not relinquish their existing position and seat with the opposition as colleagues for the sake of healing the country. Politicians are selfish and self serving individuals.
Thanks Eric for your opinion. I agreed with you that the ruling government will not relinquish their existing position and seat with the opposition as colleagues for the sake of healing the country. Politicians are selfish and self serving individuals.
Let us pray and hope for the best for the Kingdom of Thailand.
