American Football: where to watch in Bangkok?

American Football: where to watch in Bangkok?

Postby sundayjam on Sat Sep 03, 2011 5:29 pm

American football is not popular here.

My college football team is playing on ESPN around 9-10am Thailand time, this Sunday morning.
Where can I watch this game live in Bangkok? Everywhere I go they hand me lists of live sports from other countries.

I watched prior years online via Justin.tv, but the channel is effectively blocked here now. The pay-per-view is not available, because its on a popular American TV channel...ESPN.

Can anyone help me out?

Cheers.

Try Bourbon Street, located in Washington Square off Sukhumvit Soi 22, near Prom Pong SkyTrain station. They'll probably put it on for you if you request so, as your a customer! Cheerz

Bourbon Street is a pretty good suggestion, but I'm not sure if they turn the volume on on the television. Washington Square has a handful of bars in a relatively small area that all open early. You can likely find at least one that's willing to show what you want, particularly as this area has a higher concentration of American expats than most (though the crowd does skew a bit older). Probably worth poking your head into a few joints to see who has the best set-up.

Thanks, fellahs.
I ended up finding the game on-line, and enjoyed it with a cup of coffee at home.
Maybe I'll try Washington Square next week.

Most of the pubs on Sukhumvit favor Soccer, Rugby, and Aussie Rules.
