How does one go about getting a Thai school to obtain a work permit for them? My wife has a Thai teachers license and has for many years.

Non-b visa is required for a work permit.

If a Thai school in Thailand hires a foreigner to work, the school will take care of the necessary procedures in obtaining the work permit for the teacher.

If your Thai wife has a Thai teachers license, then obviously there is no need for her to have a work permit to teach in Thailand.
