Why do ONLY foreigners get special promotion?

What I do know for sure is that when it comes to buying souvenirs and memoirs of the trip if you try to speak Thai (at least make a good effort) you'll get better prices than even a Thai national... remember this people.

Might get a bit cheaper than a typical tourist but that's about it.

As the posts on this forum indicate 'foreigners get a special price' and it sure isn't cheaper.
