Campaign Asia-Pacific’s Agency of the Year competition has again returned it’s verdict, OMD is special in Thailand.
Following hot on the heels of last year’s win ‘Media Planner of The Year Award’, OMD has again achieved a media first and been crowned Media Agency of The Year for Thailand. This annual awards ceremony recognises inspired leadership, management excellence, outstanding business performance and overall achievements in the region’s advertising and communications industry. It is the only agency performance awards in the region with results tabulated by PricewaterhouseCoopers

In commenting on the win, Paul Spencer, Managing Director OMD (Thailand) said, ‘as a management team we set out to be the most trusted and inspirational media partner to clients, creating a distinct agency culture that embraces a forward looking perspective in whatever we do.
A key focus of the judging was on nurturing the right kind of talent and empowering them to bring the best ideas to life, which struck a chord in the industry”

OMD people are encouraged to follow their passion for enquiry and innovation and OMD’s submission demonstrated the remarkable achievements of the agency (wins, talent and client retention) as well as the will to initiate stimulating industry discussions through events like OMD Predicts.

At the forefront of OMD Thailand’s key initiatives is OMD Predicts – A ‘future forward’ peek into the dynamics of the media and marketing industry. OMD Predicts Thailand covers local consumer trends and media developments in a bid to reveal the future of media and communications. OMD Thailand contributes in shaping the local industry by associating with industry bodies, industry movers and shakers on key initiatives undertaken to grow and educate the market.
OMD Thailand’s story combined the best of strategy, innovation and thought leadership. OMD Thailand set out to provide more in-depth advice and consultancy to businesses wanting to know how they should navigate the opportunities laid open by technology, new platforms and business models. The agency strengthened its positioning by launching cutting edge tools and services leveraging technology, mobile and social expertise. It was a year of steady growth with over 13 new wins and high client retention rates.

OMD owes its success to attracting the best Thai talent in the marketplace and the integration with specialist units within the Omnicom Media Group architecture to bring the right mix of analytics and innovation across all communicable forms of media channels in Thailand.

Paul concluded by saying “We have created the agency of tomorrow, today. Crucially with the agency organized and populated in the way we are today, 2013 promises to be a record breaking year for OMD and our clients”.
