August 23rd 2007.
Hi To Create a Thai Company is Crazy, you are never in control.

However anybody can LEASE land for 30 years and then build their house on it, it is yours forever (30yrs is close to forever for most], and NO-One can take it away from you, see a Lawyer it can be easily arranged.

Don't be fooled into thinking you can start a Thai Company which can then buy a House, the house will always be owned by the majority Thai shareholders - you have been warned!!!!!

English teachers are only an asset; the little money someone makes teaching here is spent and goes back into the economy; taxed or not. I don't understand why a person must have a bachelors degree; there are many people with associated degrees or even H.S. degrees, who are perfectly competent to teach English if they have a small amount of training and practice. Simply create a test for them to prove their ability.

Do you have any idea how many criminals run to Thailand. They are usually young "wealthy" and a so scared of going for a visa because they cant . The minute that passport is run through the computer the alarms will go off. They have enjoyed an era of free comings and going with an occasional trip to Pinang or Cambodia

Thialand no longer harbours criminals of non Thai nationalities any more.

It is now England that harbours Thia criminals

i be now 2 year here - all the time with a offical tourist visa and not only with the visa on arrival stamp. i spend in this 2 year about 3 million thai baht and not work any minute here - i can not work anymore. thai embassy say before this is the visa that i need - for the other one i be too young and not married with a thai woman.

if i need leave the country every 90 days for minimum of 90 days then i need to say goodbye to thailand - i not can stay 3 months in a other country and then change again and again - nobody give a house for rent for 3 months.

i dont not what can do now - i be very sad now and not can sleep and eat anymore before i know whats will happen with my life.

i understand that thailand want kick out bad peoples but please let the peoples that hold the rules and do nothing wrong life here - we support the economy too.

To all those not being familiar with the VISA regulations, and effective as of 1.October 2006, they can be found for free in English and Scandinavian, if in a language as French, we also post them for free to those requesting. ( not necessary to pay 5-10.000 to a Visa agent , in order to be told the same!) :o Only go to the page of the Helping Lawyers, and under Legal on www. pattaya-allinone.com (We know that Bangkok Post not like ref. to Web-pages, but we feel that all witch not are commercial, only informative, has its place in this forum, or has it not?

After reading all the different replies, I can not help but notice one thing, why do we, I am a foreigner too, keep considering Thailand as our property (our even hunting grounds...) as we have a some devine right (because we have more money but in many cases not brains) to stay and live here?
In fact we are only guests of this beautiful country and his beautiful people.
It is time that all that wining stops, respect thai laws (who are in many ways similar in your home countries) or return to your home.
I am of belgian national, working and residing in Thailand for some odd 20 years, I hope not being a native english speaker is here not an issue to simply disregard my comments.

visa and passport issues

Postby bivan on Fri Dec 19, 2008 11:28 pm

in the past I would enter thailand with a non-immigrant 3 month visa then go to Ranong cross into kauthung and renter thailand for another 30 days so I could spend a total of 4 months of the winter in thailand.
I,m not sure what to do with the new rule 15 days on a land crossing.
any tips?

New rules are just rules without proper enforcement.

I have met many foreigners during my 15 years in Thailand, and I was surprised to find out that many of them do not have proper visa and work permit. Many of them arrived on tourist visa worked illegally in Thailand, and were proud that they managed to "beat the system".

I hope Thailand does not just introduce the laws/rules, but actually enforce them as well.

"Just rules" are rules that are considered both necessary and fair. Rules for the sake of rules will be ignorred/circumnavigated as seen fit by the people. Pehaps Thai people are cleverer and have more "common sense" than some would give them credit for! (politicians excluded)
