Someone counting chickens too early?
Someone counting chickens too early?
Dont count you chickens before they hatch, or at least dont tell everyone how many you will have before you have them
From the nation today:
"Supporters of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra were urged to come out to join a mass rally on Sunday when the red-shirted movement would announce its "victory".
Jatuporn Promphan, a leader of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship, told the crowd at the Government House rally late Tuesday night that a mass rally would be held on Sunday.
"We will announce our decisive measure and will achieve our victory that day," Jatuporn said."
I wonder if the DEMS are working to the same "script"

Hey Observer, it reminds me of Arthur Scargill President of the national union of Mineworkers union ,who after 12 months on strike and achieved EXACTLY NOTHING except causing a split within the union, and still to this day contends that he brought about a great victory for his fellow members, what a crock of schit,LOL.

if you have access to inside information you will also hear that Kasit will be replaced. Not now, but after the Songkran deadline set by the Red (in order NOT to give them a "victory"). I dont have the name of the replacement (but he has been selected. Apparently a "luk nong" of (yet) another General).

Hi Observer,
Being a "Thai", I don't think it is a Thai thing.
I think that it is more of a gimmick to bring in more protestors and turn the heat up another notch. It can also backfire on them as well by using this tactic and not wise (IMHO) to make such a statement at this time (strategically speaking).
Puts pressure on the Reds themselves while the government just has to back-peddle until the UDD come down off the adrenalin.

Careful what you base your facts on.
The Army and police were getting involved yesterday, before the anouncement this morning.
I would say a survey that shows 69 - 30 % against your point would be something to show you how the pubic feel? Not something to prove that the public is behind the REDS?
I predict, (going way out on limb here) If the DEMS can keep their cool, and not react to the taunts from MrT, then on Sunday the UDD, will have nothing to announce.
Should be interesting to hear what they have to say, and hear what their "victory" is?

I think it will be a big mistake by the government if they cut the link. It will just make the UDD protestors believe in stronger that there is something to hide. Where there's smoke, there's fire belief will only fuel the UDD.
Observer is right, the Dems need to keep their cool. If they try to dispurse, it will definitely heighten the situation (as we've seen before). Let's see how well the Dems play the situation. We can all forecast but only time will really tell.

Do you know the technology involved in cutting a kink like that.
I had to laugh when i heard the UDD say that on Sat i think, i would believe it was more about incopitence rather that cutting a link, FOS to cut that link, they would have to shut down, ALL internet/telephone/GSM signals in that area.
Do you realy think that could be done.
They can use a mobile phone as a link, how can the DEMS shut down a single mobile phone signal, let alone find it.
Trust me, it sounds more like the UDD is using that as another way to whip up the REDS, seems to be working from your reaction, wouldnt you say.

I'm talking about physics here, that and technology. (trust me, its what i have been doing for 25 years)
The link you provided talks about satalite technology, fair enough, real tought to cut it, could be done, but real tough, and the satalite operator would have to be in on it as well.
So in reality, they cant cut it, they might make it so that the UDD have to use a different system, but they can not stop Mr T from calling in, by either Video or Audio.
They could kill power at GH, but a gernerator would fix that.
A mobile phone is all that is needed, and for the DEMS to shut that off, they have to take down the network all around GH, do-able, but would all of the GSM carriers play ball, doubt it.
Next a simple telephone line, cant be that hard to find one around GH, must be a residence, or a shop that has one. that would work just fine too. So then the DEMS could cut the telephone exchange for the whole of the GH area.
Trust me, cant be done.
