Baby Elephant walk
Willy Thuan
I was having lunch on Bangtao Beach on the west coast of Phuket when I saw a mahout walking there with a baby elephant. The young elephant suddenly ran into the rough sea and played in the waves like a kid.
The mahout wasn’t worried, he obviously knew that the animal loved playing here. So he took some leisure time for a good while until it was time to go, but the young pachyderm was obviously not ready to give up the game.
It took the mahout another 15 minutes to convince the big boy to go home.
One thing I learned that day was to never leave home without your camera; you never know what and when a wonderful moment like this will unfold in Thailand!
