Mother has own son arrested
Earlier this week, Post Today published a report about a 60-year-old woman from Mae Sot in Tak province who filed a complaint with police against her own son.
Sunee Deedecha told the commander of the Mae Sot police station to file charges against her son, Supachart, 38, and Mrs Sasitorn Phunbieamsuk, 41, in the theft of valuables from her house worth 5.1 million baht.
Altogether, 95 items were stolen including gold bars weighing 82 baht (1230 grams) and worth 2 million baht, gold necklaces weighing 73 baht, worth 1.8 million baht, various other pieces of gold jewellery worth 500,000 baht, about 400,000 baht in cash plus other valuable items.
Initially, on the day of the theft, Mr Supachart had accompanied his mother to the police station to report that thieves had broken into the house. Police then carried out an investigation and quickly became suspicious of Mr Supachart’s story.
Finally, under intense police questioning, Mr Supachart admitted that he and Mrs Sasitorn had planned and carried out the theft themselves.
