In the West, homes as well as shopping malls are now decorated with colourful lights. Some home displays are even set to music. Here are two amazing examples, one with a traditional Christmas song, the other with a pop song by Bridget Midler.

Colourful lights are a big part of the holiday season. Here is Bangkok we usually see them on big big buildings, especially shopping malls. In western countries, however, the lights are everywhere including houses. Some displays are truly spectacular (น่าตื่นเต้น ที่ตระการตา) and can even be set to music through the use of special computer controls. Here are two examples.
The first features the traditional Christmas song Hark the bells. The lyrics (words to the song) are below so you can follow along.
Hark the bells
Hark! how the bells
sweet silver bells
All seem to say
throw cares away.
Christmas is here
bringing good cheer
To young and old
meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong
that is their song,
With joyful ring
all caroling
One seems to hear
words of good cheer
From everywhere
filling the air
O, how they pound
raising the sound
Oer hill and dale
telling their tale
Gaily they ring
while people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here!
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas!
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas!
On, on they send
on without end
Their joyful tone
to every home
Hark! how the bells
sweet silver bells
All seem to say
throw cares away.
Christmas is here
bringing good cheer
To young and old
meek and the bold
Ding, dong, ding, dong
that is their song
With joyful ring
all caroling.
One seems to hear
words of good cheer
From everywhere
filling the air
O, how they pound
raising the sound
Oer hill and dale
telling their tale
Gaily they ring
while people sing
Songs of good cheer
christmas is here!
Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!
Merry, merry, merry, merry christmas!
On, on they send
on without end
Their joyful tone
to every home.
On, on they send
on without end
Their joyful tone
to every home.
On, on they send
on without end
Their joyful tone
to every home
Hark! how the bells
sweet silver bells
All seem to say
throw cares away.

Ready or Not (Bridget Midler)
The second is probably more appropriate to New Years than Christmas since it is about a girl who is ready to party. The song is “Ready or Not” by Bridget Midler.
I'm the kind of girl
Who doesn't say a word
Who sits at the curb
And waits for the world
But I'm about to break out , about to break out i'm like a crook tonight
I caught you staring at me
And i was thinking clearly
Now I'm like a bee
And I'm hunting for the honey
And I'm kinda shy but , you super fly yeah , I could be your kryptonite
Like Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
Light my heart up baby , like a matchstick
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh oOh
And hit the gas quick
(Chorus)
Ready or Not , here i come
Where you at? The night is young
In the crowd the music's loud
But I will find you
Ready or Not , here i come
I like your face, do you like my song ?
Just sing it la la la la la la la
And I find you
Ready or Not , Ready or Not
Hello , my name is (Bridgit)
Nice to meet you
I think you're famous
Where have I seen you ?
You'll be my William, I'll be your Kate living like a fairytale
We could have a palace
right next to Oprah
37 Cars and a yacht
down in boca
Take me away , wherever you say , yeah we could be setting sail
Like Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh
Light my heart up baby , like a matchstick
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh oOh
And hit the gas quick
(Chorus)
Ready or Not , here i come
Where you at? The night is young
In the crowd the music's loud
But i will find you
Ready or Not , here i come
I like your face, do you like my song ?
Just sing it la la la la la la la
And I find you
Ready or Not , Ready or Not
Ready or not , here I come , here I come
You're like a breath of fresh air in my lungs
You and me dance from the night to the dawn
Ready or not , here I come boy , It's on
Ready or not , here I come , here I come
You're like a breath of fresh air in my lungs
You and me dance from the night to the dawn
Ready or not , here i come boy , It's on
(Chorus)
Ready or Not , here I come
Where you at? The night is young
In the crowd the music's loud
But I will find you
Ready or Not , here I come
I like your face, do you like my song ?
Just sing it la la la la la la la
And I find you
Ready or Not
Ready or not
(You're like a breath of fresh air in my lungs)
