Last weekend, the Youtube video of two women being roughed up by an angry law tutor was the talk of the town.
The case received heavy coverage on major television stations and, of course, it was topic number one in the social media.
Yesterday, according to a Daily News story, it all ended with a quiet apology and 1,000 baht fine.
The incident took place last Thursday when Anyarat Panwichaiwut, wearing red in the video, was driving her van on a narrow street at Soi Ratchada 6, Bangkok Yai district. Near the end of the street, she encountered another car that was heading in the opposite direction.
The driver of the car was later identified as 48-year-old law tutor Kasian Kamolchaiwanich.
Ms Anyarat said she noticed that there was adequate space for Mr Kasian's car to back up, so she waited, but he did not move. After about three minutes she left her vehicle to negotiate with the driver.
The woman said Mr Kasian reproached her, saying that she should be the one getting out of his way. Moments later the man followed her back to her van, threw his key at her, and confronted her.
She complained that the man punched and kicked her. When her friend stepped in, he shoved both of them around, she added.
Police questioned both of them on last Saturday at the police station. Mr Kasian initially denied that he committed assault, saying the woman was the one who initiated the fight.
At the police station yesterday, however, Mr Kasian apologised to Ms Anyarat, saying that he lost his temper and admitted what he did was wrong. He said the public have already punished him.
Ms Anyarat responded that she did not hold any grudge against the teacher in the first place and would drop the case. She then denied a rumour that she was demanding 20,000 baht to drop the case.
Police fined Mr Kasian 1,000 baht for using force to harm others which did not cause any physical and mental damage.
