A week after the death of Nida "Tangmo" Patcharaveerapong, police are still trying to find out what really happened.

"We are not ruling out any possible causes of her death," the chief investigator said on Thursday.

Police working on the case were investigating whether the 37-year-old actress accidentally fell from a speedboat and drowned in the Chao Phraya river on the night of Feb 24, or her death occurred as a result of the negligence of five other people on the speedboat.

So far, police have filed charges against two of them - Tanupat "Por" Lerttaweewit and Phaiboon "Robert" Trikanjananun. Mr Tanupat owned the speedboat and Phaiboon was driving the boat at the time.

The two men were charged on two counts: operating an unauthorised vessel and negligence leading to the death of a person.

The other three people on the boat were Idsarin "Gatick" Juthasuksawat, who was Tangmo's personal manager; her friend Wisapat "Sand" Manomairat and Nitas "Job" Kiratisoothisathorn.

The actress reportedly went to the back of the boat to relieve herself.

Ms Wisapat said on Sunday she was looking at her mobile phone while the actress held on to her legs at the rear of the boat before slipping into the river.

Asked whether the cause of Tangmo’s death was confirmed, police said other companions either told police that they did not see her walking to the end of the boat or did not see her relieving herself.

Police on Wednesday night re-enacted the route and timing of the incident to find out whether it was consistent with the statements of the four companions and other witnesses.

Police had questioned 29 out of 37 witnesses before deciding whether charges will be brought against new suspects. The current suspects may also face more charges, they said.
