Muay Thai fighter Fariyar Aminipour has died in Phuket, according to his gym in Thailand.

The 23-year-old from Iran was said to have died in a "tragic accident" while on his bike, according to Tiger Muay Thai.

In a social media post, the gym paid tribute to "the extremely talented" fighter, who it said would be "missed greatly and will remain in all of our thoughts".

"At only 23 years old, lion-hearted Fariyar had already accomplished so much, and was well on track to achieving his dream of becoming a ONE world champion. Gone far, far too soon due to a tragic accident," the Instagram post said.

Aminipour was just starting to make his name in Muay Thai, and he fought five times on the ONE Friday Fights series at Lumpinee Stadium last year, winning four of those bouts.

At ONE Friday Fights 4 he beat reigning Rebels super featherweight champion Hiroki Suzuki by decision, while at ONE Friday Fights 13 he scored a decision win over Ferrari Fairtex.
