Here's a love story that was not in a book, magazine or movie, but on a large cloth banner at the edge of Lat Prao Road opposite Lat Prao Soi 101, Bangkapi, Bangkok. Let's hope it had a happy ending.

ผมขอโทษที่พูดออกไป   
ผมพูดเพื่อลองใจตาลว่ายังรักผมไหม

ผมยังรักตาลอยู่ ยังรอตาลอยู่   
ทุกคนที่บ้านเป็นห่วงมากและยังรอตาลอยู่   
ขอให้ตาลยกโทษให้ผมด้วย

ขอโทษ -     to apologise; to be sorry
ที่พูดออกไป -    what I said
เพื่อ -   to; in order to
ลองใจ -    to test one's feelings; to determine if someone still feels the same
ว่ายังรักผมไหม -   whether (you) still love me
ผมยังรักตาลอยู่ -    I still love you!
ยังรอตาลอยู่ -   (I'm) still waiting for you - (Thais usually use the name of the second party instead – 'Tarn' as in this case)
ทุกคนที่บ้าน -   everyone at home
เป็นห่วงมาก -   to be so concerned; to be worried
ขอให้ -   please; to ask; to beg
ยกโทษ -   to forgive
