Woman thrown out of a car after rape attempt failed

SAMUT PRAKAN - A 27-year-old woman was allegedly drugged, sexually assaulted and thrown out of a car after a rape attempt failed, police said on Sunday.

Pol Capt Suntaraporn Jatum of Muang Samut Prakan police station received a report of a woman found unconscious on a sidewalk in Samut Prakan's Muang district on Saturday night. The woman, whose name was withheld, was then sent to Samut Prakan hospital.

After the woman regained consciousness, she told police that she went to a bar on Sukhumvit road with two other friends on Saturday night. Her friends later left without telling her and another man approached her and invited her for a drink.

The woman said she fell unconscious after having a few drinks with the stranger. After she woke up, she found out that she was in a bedroom of a love motel with the man on top of her.

She said the man punched her in the stomach and tried to rape her but she resisted. The man later gave in.

The woman then rushed to the toilet with her cell phone and called 191 police emergency hotline. However, police could not help her as she did not know where she was.

According to her testimony, the man then forced her to leave the room, dragged her into his car and left the love motel. The man then threw her out of the car onto the road and drove away.

The woman said she tried to wave for a taxi but she was still heavily drugged and later passed out.

Police said they were checking surveillance cameras of the love motel for footage of the man who attacked her.
