Former world boxing champion Sura Saenkham's announcement he had married for the third time came as a blow to his second wife, who insists she is still legally wed to the man whose ring name was Khaosai Galaxy and they still live together with their teenage son in a house in Bangkok.

Khaosai announced he had married his third wife in Nakhon Si Thammarat on Friday.

His second wife, Surirat Saenkham, said she was shocked by the news her husband had married again, according to the report .....

Khaosai told her he went to Nakhon Si Thammarat for a football match with friends in the entertainment business. They are still living together with their 14-year-old son in a house in Areeya village in ... Bangkok, she said.

Mrs Surirat said she and Khaosai are not divorced.

Watcharapol Saenkham, Khaosai's son, told the media that his father lives at the house with them, although he does stay at other places for two or three nights sometimes for the shooting of episodes of a television sitcom.

However, a close friend of the couple said they had some arguments over the past few months....

The media has failed to reach Khaosai since his second wife spoke out about their relationship.

Siam Sport's reporter said the house where the family lived together sports a "for sale" sign.

On Friday, Khaosai, 54, and Wannapa Kumboonsri, 36, announced they had married after they had been dating for three years. Ms Wannapa, a Nakhon Si Thammarat resident, works for a foreign company as a hotel inspector.

The former WBA super flyweight champion's first wife was a Japanese woman named Yumiko Ota.

Khaosai's latest marriage surprised most people, not just his legal wife, because it was not made public until after the simple, low-key ceremony.

Mrs Surirat said later Monday that she would be willing to talk with Khaosai if he wanted a divorce, and if they could agree on alimony payments.

Khaosai was renowned for his powerful left hand, "the left hand that drills intestines". He successfully defended his WBA title 19 times, 16 of those being knockouts. He was inducted to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1999.

After he retired from boxing, the former world champion tried his hand at property development, as well as politics and acting.
