Following the World Cup in English

The fastest way to prepare yourself for following the English-language coverage of the World Cup. Details here:

If English is not your first or main language, you will naturally follow the World Cup coverage in your own language. But try to take some time and look at the English language coverage as well. Since you will already know what has happened, it should not be too difficult. You will be surprised at how much your can learn in a short time.

The fastest way to prepare is with my book "World Cup English". There you will learn the basic language of football and also the language sports writers typically use to describe the competition. The book is in both English and Thai so you can work you way through it quite quickly. You can also listen to the English texts and this will help you to remember what you have learned.

Actually, World Cup coverage began quite some time ago. First, the stories centred on international friendlies, preparations for the World Cup, features on key players and, of course, assessments of the chances of each competing country's team. Now, of course, teams have arrived in Brazil and the competition has begun.  We'll be there watching every day.
