Daily Covid hospitalisations, deaths rise

There were 18 more Covid-19 fatalities and 2,125 new cases admitted to hospitals on Monday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Tuesday.

As of midnight Monday night, a total of 22,341 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 22,735 the previous day), including 11,192 in hospitals (up from 10,974).

Among the remainder, 736 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (up from 684) and 10,389 in home/community isolation (down from 11,053).

Of those in hospital, 803 were seriously ill patients with lung inflammation (up from 794), with 378 needing ventilators (up from 369).

The 24-hour period also saw 2,501 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.

All the 2,125 new cases were transmitted inside Thailand. Aside from four infected prison inmates, they were members of the general public.
