Drink and you might be a real ghost
It is Halloween tomorrow. Kids love it and so do many adults.
In some countries, children dress up in scary costumes and go from house to house where they receive candy and other sweet things.
Here in Thailand, many adults like to go to parties. Some of them drink too much alcohol, however, and if they drive a car, they could become a real ghost.
These young people went to police headquarters in Bangkok today to remind the police to make sure drinking laws are obeyed, especially laws against promoting the drinking of alcohol.
Can you read their signs?
The first is โปรโมชั่น which is the same as the English word "promotion". Notice that pronunication is different though.
The second is เหล้า which means alcohol, especially alcoholic drinks.
The third is ความตาย which means death -- something than can happen to people who drink too much alcohol.
The last is สูญเสีย which means loss or waste. Losing your life because of alcohol is a waste.
