Fresh clashes erupted on Feb 4 and after a temporary lull, broke out again yesterday in that area.
A brief morning lull in the storm on Sunday allowed rescue helicopters to buzz around the green peaks in this area about 65km north of Rio de Janeiro, delivering desperately needed food and water to some of the most remote neighbourhoods.
The event was organised by Amsiam Travel, a Samui-based travel agency, in association with Hitman Jazz and Bangkok Airways with the original purpose of bringing back colour and life to the island during the lull in tourism in 2009.
