A Democrat MP Thursday sliced open a bag of the government's pledged rice in parliament in a bid to demonstrate poor quality control of the stored paddy.

They would slice off the skin of the sugar cane and cut it into pieces about 2.5cm long.

The meed phraa could be used to cut branches or to slice fruit or meat.
