EDITOR'S NOTE
04/07/2009 : I remember one of the first pieces of wisdom passed on to me in the first Thai linguistics class during my university years was, "Make sure you are not overpowered by language." It might be harsh, but this lecturer went on to point out that many Thai people fall slave to the language their ancestors created, and the most obvious cases are those auspicious plants many have in their garden believing they will bring good fortune because their names - a product of man-made language - are made up of words that mean luck, wealth, respect, etc.

BEAUTY ON BUDGET
04/07/2009 : A walk through the aisle flanked by cosmetic counters can leave you feeling like a pauper. So many things you want to buy, yet so little is left in the wallet given the economic situation today. Does being strapped for cash mean some women cannot look as pretty as more fortunate ladies? Not always. There is one refreshing truth we sometimes overlook: Beauty products can be expensive, but beauty itself is virtually free.

04/07/2009 : Bloom has come up with a new idea to name its candy-coloured products. The new range, Mineral Plus Lip Butter, comes in eight vibrant colours and equally vibrant names inspired by Natalie Bloom's passion for music. Packed with natural ingredients such as pomegranate seed oil, shea butter, rosehip oil and natural vanilla and mandarin oil scents, the luscious lip butter is contained in a clear package with a small mirror for ultimate convenience.

PRETTY AND THE PAWS
04/07/2009 : The scene of this week's 'Muse' cover was possibly the most heart-warming photo session we have ever taken. Affection was radiating from our interview subject as her four-legged best friends obediently, and almost miraculously, posed for the photo shoot as she told them to.

04/07/2009 : I HAVE A WAY of explaining why women behave as they do, and there is no secret to understanding them. Indeed, it is easy to understand women as all of their behaviours are mostly controlled by chemicals in the brain, understandable through scientific explanation.
