The gift-giving season is approaching and there is one more venue to browse for valuable presents for our loved ones as the "Book For Gift 2010" festival runs from today (Dec 3) until Dec 12 at the Impact Exhibition Hall 6, Muang Thong Thani. It opens daily from 10am-8pm.
Held for the first time under the concept of "Think Gifts, Think Books" by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (Pubat), the 10-day fair features more than 130 booths offering a wide range of books for readers of all ages.
Among the exhibits are 70 gift sets to suit a range of tastes, with price tags ranging from below 500 baht to up to 5,000 baht.
The highlight is the "Book For Gift Charity Day" activity on Dec 4 which offers many gift sets specially prepared by celebrities under the concept of "Create Love and Intimacy by Giving Books for Gifts". They are available for sale from 2pm and all proceeds will go to charities.
Other activities include the "Book Christmas" lucky draw for all who spend at least 300 baht, and the "DIY Book Gift" which provides all necessary materials, priced at 30 baht, for shoppers wishing to create their own book gift sets.
