Painting memories of love

If we believe that paintings have enough depth to contain life stories, then it should not be difficult to imagine artists superimposing personal stories on to their works.
For some artists, there is no separation between their work and life, some cannot exist without writing diaries or drawing pictures.
Attasit Aniwatchon is an artist for whom depth is not only a psychological illusion of colour or perspective, but is also reflected in the stylistic features he explores. Attasit has brought depth and his experiences to the challenging topic of love in his collection of works called "In Search Of Love Painting".
He uses love paintings as backdrops which exist in parallel with the world of reality layered in the foreground, variously representing the past, the present and the future.
And just as the artist imposes his experience, the pieces vividly recreate love from our memories, expectations and dreams of life.
"In Search Of Love Painting" will be on show at Numthong Gallery from Saturday until Aug 31. The gallery is located on Aree Soi 5 (north) off Phahon Yothin Soi 7 and opens Mondays to Saturdays from 11am to 6pm. Call 02-617-2794 or visit www.gallerynumthong.com.
