‘The Queen’s Cup Hua Hin International Triathlon 2012’ will take place at Baan Kao Tao of Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, on Aug 19 starting at 7am.
Sport Bicycle invites athletes to join "The Queen's Cup Hua Hin International Triathlon 2012" which will take place in the idyllic fishing village of Baan Kao Tao, located 14km south of Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, on Aug 19 at 7am.
Held in collaboration with Hua Hin municipality and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, this popular triathlon has been created to celebrate HM the Queen's 80th birthday and Their Majesties' commitment to sport.
The event is set to become one of the largest triathlons in Southeast Asia with an expected attendance of 500 competitors from around the world.
The race has two distances to choose from. The duathlon comprises a 5km run, a 41km cycle and a 12km run and is open to individuals aged from 16 years. The triathlon includes a 1.5km swim, a 41km cycle and a 12km run and is designed for both teams and individuals aged from 18 years.
A prize of 200,000 baht will be awarded to the winners, and those who make it to the finish line will receive a medal.
Registration fee is 2,500 baht for the duathlon, while the triathlon costs 2,500 baht per individual and 5,000 baht per team.
