"Woodcut Printmaking: 2000-2012", a solo exhibition by emerging young artist Chaiya Wannalert, is on display at Galerie Panisa until Dec 29.
Inspired by the natural beauty of forest and mountainous landscapes of his birthplace in Chiang Mai, Chaiya creates flora fantasies and impressive scenes with a gentle yet striking combination of overlapping layers of colour patterns. Chaiya got involved with woodcutting in high school and pursued his love until he graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the Rajamangala Institute of Technology, Chiang Mai, in 2005.
The gallery is located on Mahidol Road, near Chiang Mai International Airportand is open Mon-Sat from 9am-6pm. Call 053-202-779.
