The "Oakwood Bangkok International Rugby Tens 2013" kicks off Feb 16 at Bangkok Patana School in Soi La Salle. It will feature 36 teams in the main men's open division, 60 youth and student teams, and five to six women's teams who will be playing touch rugby.
Now in its seventh year, the tournament is a rugby fest noted for the spirit and camaraderie that prevails among competing teams, and a great social and family occasion.
Before the tournament, on Feb 15, a welcome reception for the teams will be held from 7pm at Tenderloins restaurant and sports bar on Sukhumvit Soi 33.
The teams will compete in three divisions - the cup, plate and bowl. Matches in the group stage will take place from 11.30am to 6pm on Feb 16, while the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the finals are scheduled Feb 17, followed by prize presentation.
The public is welcome. Admission is free.
