Summer is the perfect time to experience the beauty of the seas of Thailand. To increase your appetite for a journey to the Andaman coast in the southwest of Thailand, Seacon Square is holding "The Colourful Andaman Sea Fair" from Friday until March 17.
The 10-day fair will recreate the beauty of the Andaman Sea region and the Sino-Portuguese culture of its people through an exhibition.
For those planning to make a trip to the sandy beaches around there, here's a chance to seek travel information from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and travel packages from many travel agencies. Products for sports, such as jet-skiing, scuba diving, trekking, and so forth are also available.
The fair also features the souvenirs of the region and a fine variety of culinary delicacies such as dry fish stomach curry, southern-style rice vermicelli topped with fish curry sauce, yellow rice with chicken, massaman curry, chicken kolae, Hat Yai deep-fried chicken, spicy horseshoe crab salad, spicy sea crab salad and more.
Adding more vibes to the fair will be many colourful shows from Pacific Ocean islands by Thai dancers. The highlight is the haka war challenge in which warriors intimidate their enemies by chanting in Maori language, making fierce facial expressions, protruding their tongues, brandishing spears, and stamping their feet.
The performances are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and March 16 and 17 at 2pm and 5pm. There is no admission fee. Call 02-721-8888 ext 311.
