The ‘Future Park International Coffee & Tea Showcase 2013’ features famous coffee and tea as well as a latte art competition, from Thursday to Monday.
Good news for coffee and tea lovers: Future Park is gathering the ultimate beverages from internationally renowned brands under the same roof where visitors will also enjoy the aromas and jazz music in a field setting.
Running from Thursday until Monday, the "Future Park International Coffee & Tea Showcase 2013" will feature Kaffa coffee, the original coffee from Kaffa province in Ethiopia, and the luxurious Pu-erh tea from Yunnan, China, which is renowned for its gentle taste and medicinal properties.
The list includes Black Ivory coffee, which sells for as much as 33,000 baht per kilogramme, making it the most expensive in the world. This is a brand of novelty coffee produced in Chiang Rai province from Arabica coffee beans that have been consumed by elephants and collected from their faeces.
At the fair, visitors will also learn about coffee types and the art of making the popular drink in Ethiopian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Italian, Australian, Swiss, and Lao styles.
The fair is also a rare chance to feel the atmosphere of many famous coffee shops of the good old days. The line-up includes Norrasing, the country's first classic coffee shop established during the reign of King Rama VI; Kopi, the legendary coffee shop in Chumphon province; On Lok Yun, a meeting place of koh lang wang (modish young men who hung out around Wang Burapha) 50 years ago; and Tung Who, an antique brewed-coffee shop famous for its original drinks.
Another highlight is the country's first "TCTA Latte Art Competition Thailand" to vie for a trophy from HRH Princess Chulabhorn. Up to 3,000 robusta coffee plants will also be given away at the fair.
