Goethe-Institute invites young talented pianists between the ages of 8 and 25 to enter the 7th "Beethoven Competition in Thailand 2013 for Young Pianists" to vie for cash prizes worth over 225,000 baht, win a trophy and a certificate. Held annually since 2007, the competition is aimed at creating an identifiable bridge between the classical music culture in Thailand and the central European home of classical music. The international jury consists of renowned soloists in piano and strings from Germany and other countries around the world. The competition is open to Thai citizens, permanent residents and foreigners studying, working or residing in Thailand. There are three age groups - Group A: 8-12 years, Group B: 13-17 years and Group C: 18-25 years. The pre-jury round with national juries is on Oct 14, the first round with international juries on Oct 21 and the final round on Oct 24. The venue is Goethe-Institut's auditorium.
