This offer is no fake. Aspiring cartoonists who wish to visit France are invited to enter the Embassy of France's "Thailand Anti-counterfeiting Cartoon Contest" held under the theme "Beware of Counterfeiting: Danger is Calling".
The contest is open to Thai nationals aged 16 to 36 years who may enter as an individual or as a team of two to three members (comprising a writer, a designer and a colourist). They are required to produce a comic book in either Thai, French or English. The artwork can be of two to five plates, but must be in full colour at A3 size.
The entry could be a single story based on a product, or several small stories with different products. It should present the following elements - prices that are identical to or lower than the original, the ease of buying fakes (via the internet or in street markets), buying fakes deliberately or by deception, and awareness of deception and the risks to your health.
The scenario may be created from any of the following products _ drugs, cosmetics and perfumes, alcohol/spirit/beverages, pesticides or insecticides, household or cleaning products, food, medical objects, toys, electronic or electrical components, sunglasses, and spare parts of motorbikes or cars.
The winner will receive a trip to France and have the chance to participate in the Angouleme International Comics Festival.
Entries must be submitted to the Service de Cooperation et d'Action Culturelle, Cat Telecom Tower, 23rd floor.
