Whether or not the market ends next week on a high note, the Stock Exchange of Thailand will start the weekend on song.
A group of pianists will perform a set of much-loved classics during a charity concert at the SET auditorium on May 10 at 7pm.
Titled "Best Loved Piano Classics", the programme will feature Beethoven's Rage Over The Lost Penny, which may prove appropriate, along with Mendelssohn's Rondo Capriccioso, Chopin's Revolutionary Etude, Military Polonaise and Waltz, Grieg's Wedding Day At Trollhauden, Mozart's Sonatas and more.
The concert is part of Settrade's Musical Moments programme which features young local talent. On this occasion, they are all students of ace pianists Artas Balakauskas and Indhuon Srikaranonda Balakauskas. Some of them have won awards from national and international piano competitions. All proceeds will go the Camillian Social Centre in Prachin Buri province which takes care of nearly 100 abandoned elderly people, many of whom are sick or unable to care for themselves. The centre depends on donations.
The concert will be performed at the Prof Sangvien Indaravijaya Auditorium, 3rd floor of the Stock Exchange of Thailand Building, Ratchadaphisek Road. It can be reached via the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre MRT station.
Tickets cost 500 baht (300 baht for students) inclusive of complimentary beverages and snacks. For more information, call 081-482-8286.
