The ‘Wine Tasting: Initiation to Wines from Southwestern France’ conference will take place at Alliance Francaise Bangkok on May 9 at 7pm.
Bold and brash with fruity undertones, or simple yet complex with an earthy nose, the descriptions that accompany the fruit of the fruit of the vine can be baffling. Thankfully, the upcoming "Wine Tasting: Initiation to Wines from Southwestern France" conference will help you find your way through.
Organised by Alliance Francaise Bangkok next Thursday at 7pm, the conference and tasting will give you the opportunity to journey into a world of subtle bouquets, acquire wine-tasting fundamentals and use your senses in a convivial setting.
In cooperation with the winemakers of the Plaimont Producteurs cooperative, participants will learn about the vineyards of southwestern France, get acquainted with appellations and varieties of French grapes, learn how to pair wines with dishes, and experience the theoretical and practical considerations involved in tasting of three vintages.
It will be conducted in French by Gautier Salinier from the Plaimont Producteurs cooperative who obtained the Wine & Spirit Education Trust diploma with high honours. He is fascinated by Asian cuisine and wines from southwestern France and, since 2010, has been marketing the wines of the Plaimont Producteurs cooperative in Asia.
Tickets cost 250 baht and can be purchased from Alliance Francaise’s Media Library every day except Monday. Places are limited to 50 people. For details, call 02-670-4231 or email chalanthorn.kidthang@ alliance-francaise.or.th.
