Prepare to take the irrepressible Ride Of The Valkyries as Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra principal guest conductor Claude Villaret leads a programme devoted to the supreme emotion of Richard Wagner.
The "TPO Performs 200 Years of Richard Wagner" concert will take place at Mahidol University's College of Music, Salaya campus, on Friday at 7pm and Saturday at 4pm.
Along with the famous Ride Of The Valkyries, the audience will hear the familiar The Flying Dutchman Overture.
The programme also features Thai saxophonist Supat Hanpatanachai performing Concerto Pour Saxophone Alto by Pierre Max Dubois.
Supat has won acclaim from masters as well as audiences. In 2010, he took top prize at the College of Music's concerto competition and performed with the Mahidol Symphony Orchestra.

On completing his bachelor's degree at Mahidol University's College of Music, he went to Montreal to study with Jean-Francois Guay at the Universite de Montreal.
There he attended workshops and masterclasses with renowned saxophonist Marie-Bernadette Charrier and the Quasar Saxophone Quartet.
