Contemporary dance master Pichet Klunchun will lead the audience through profound traditions relating to Thai identity and culture with a performance that is both piquant and socially relevant.
Entitled Unwrapping Culture, Pichet's original solo project has never before been presented outside the theatre.
There will be 14 performances on selected weekdays and weekends between June 20 and Aug 24 at 100 Tonson Gallery.
Throughout the almost two-hour-long show, Pichet will tell stories and offer social critiques through a performance entailing body movement and emotional expression, and a style of staging and lighting controlled by the artist's actions.
Unwrapping Culture will be staged at 100 Tonson Gallery on Soi Ton Son, Phloenchit Road, on June 20-22 and 28-29, July 5-6 and 12-14, and Aug 16-17 and 23-24. The show time is 7pm on Thur and Fri and 2pm on Sat and Sun. Tickets cost 1,500 baht (800 baht for students). Call 02-684-1527, 084-388-1488 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
