The submission deadline for the 19th ‘Wildlife is Priceless, Forests are Precious’ photo competition is Sept 30.
Admirers of natural beauty are invited to capture it through the lens in a photo contest.
Organised by True Group and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, the 19th "Wildlife is Priceless, Forests are Precious" photo competition aims to encourage people to appreciate wildlife and natural resources and instil in them a sense of ownership.
The contest is divided into two categories _ Wildlife and Forests _ on two levels: students and the public. Students can submit entries under any of the two categories. There are five subcategories for the public to choose from _ birds, mammals (or large animals), and others (such as reptiles, aquatic animals and insects) under the Wildlife category, and landscapes and macro images of plants under the Forests category.
Each contestant is allowed to submit no more than five photos per category as film slides or in digital format. All photos must be original and must have been taken within the past two years.
Entries will be judged on how well they exemplify the concept, their aesthetic beauty, and photography techniques used.
Besides cash prizes and trophies in the public category, and scholarships and plaques in the student division, the winners will also receive a travel package inclusive of accommodation to a Thai national park or wildlife sanctuary of their choice.
Entries can be submitted in person or by post to True Group 118/1, 11th floor, Tipco Building, Rama VI, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10400.
Alternatively, send to the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Phahon Yothin Road, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900.
The deadline for submissions is Sept 30.
