Peace, an indie rock quartet from the UK, will give their Bangkok debut concert at Sonic Ekamai on Sukhumvit Soi 63 on Aug 7 at 8pm. The foursome released their first single, Follow Baby, in April last year in the form of 500 7-inch vinyl copies and received critical acclaim from publications such as The Guardian and NME, which compared them to The Maccabees, Foals, Wu Lyf and Vampire Weekend. The band released its lead single Wraith early this year, followed by their debut album In Love a few months later. It is said to be a majestic rock album. NME even declared it as ‘‘The finest British debut of the year (9/10)’’. The brilliant Top 20 UK album earned them a slew of award nominations as well as fierce reputation as Britain’s best new band. It was announced by the BBC last December that Peace had been nominated for the Sound of 2013 poll. Peace consists of brothers Harry (vocals, guitar) and Samuel Koisser (bass), Douglas Castle (guitar) and Dominic Boyce (drums). They have just finished their first major headline tour around the US and are currently touring festivals and venues around the world, including their recent stint at Glastonbury. The upcoming Bangkok gig will be part of their first Asian tour which will also stop in Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Tokyo and Osaka. Playing as opening act for the night will be Plot from Thailand. Tickets cost 1,000 baht (1,200 baht at the door). For bookings, visit http://dudesweet.org/peace.html.
