Information

Three exciting Japanese musicians will join forces to present a sound splash of voice, taiko drum, tsugaru-shamisen and guitar during their first Thailand concert tour next month. Ryuz is a trio that explores transcending musical borders. They are set to perform at Naresuan University in Phitsanulok on Sept 6 at 3pm. They will then head for Bangkok for another performance at the Music Hall of Arts & Culture Building, Chulalongkorn University, on Sept 8 at 4pm. The ensemble comprises folk singer and taiko drummer Shigeri Kitsu, tsugaru-shamisen (a traditional string instrument) player Nobuto Yamanaka, and celebrated composer, vocalist and guitarist Kazuki Kunihiro who is noted for his genre-transcending musicality and strong stage presence. Both shows are free of charge, but reservations are required. Contact Naresuan University's public relations office on 055-961-118 from 8.30am to 4.30pm on weekdays by Sept 5, or the Japan Foundation Bangkok on 02-260-8560-4 from 9am to 5pm on weekdays by Sept 6. Limited tickets without prior booking are also available at the reception on the concert day.
