The Silpakorn Wind Quartet will premiere a new composition alongside works by Ibert, Fine and more at a concert at Siam Society on Sept 25 at 7pm.
Presented by Silpakorn University's Faculty of Music, the night will be dedicated to works for wind quintets - in this case flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon.
The programme will feature Jacques Ibert's Trois Pieces Breves, Irving Fine's Partita, Ferenc Farkas's Early Hungarian Dances from the 17th Century and Carl Nielsen's Wind Quintet, Opus 43, FS 100. The night will also have the world premiere of Aseana, a wind quintet piece composed by Damrih Bannawittayakit, Dean of Music at Silpakorn University. An active composer, arranger and conductor, for the concert he will perform on the oboe.
Three other performers are also Silpakorn faculty members - Worapon Kanweerayothin (flute), Yos Vaneesorn (clarinet), Supreeti Ansvananda (horn). They will be joined by Kittima Molee on bassoon.
Tickets cost 400 baht (300 baht for members and 50 baht for students). Siam Society is located on Asok Road.
