Information

An exhibition entitled "Young Programme 2013" opens tomorrow at La Lanta Fine Art. It will feature paintings and mixed-media work by emerging local artists Sinit Sae Jia, Pitch Tangpun, Wipoosana Supanakorn, Aranya Khunchawattichai and Jiratchaya Pripwai. This is an initiative to seek out and promote the work of young artists from Thailand and other Asian countries, with exhibitions intended to be platforms for art experiments and new ideas. On display at the Sukhumvit Soi 31 venue will be 22 pieces by these five Thai nationals whose work employs a variety of artistic techniques. Sinit has created installations from found objects, lights and Japanese clay while Pitch Tangpun works with oil paint on brass plates. Wipoosana will be showcasing a series of abstract compositions on canvas, Aranya has created figurative paintings with allusions to the relationships people have with animals and Jiratchaya's contribution is a series of drawings on paper remarkable for their use of fluid, illusive lines. The exhibition will continue until Oct 24. The gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 7pm. Call 02-204-0583 or 02-260-5381.
