Future Park is accepting entries for its Vertical Garden competition until Nov 20.
If you think you have green fingers and creativity to turn a plain pillar into a green display, you are invited to enter the "Vertical Garden" competition, which offers royal trophies and cash prizes worth more than 150,000 baht.
The contest is part of Future Park's "Environmental Conservation Project to Follow HM the King's Initiatives" and has two categories _ students between the ages of 17 and 25, and the public. However, they must enter as teams of between two and five members.
Each team is required to come up with an original design of a vertical garden that portrays the theme "Father's Book in the Garden". The designs must be illustrated on A4-sized paper. The designs will be judged based on the garden's artful beauty, conceptual creativity, plant fertility, basic elements, appropriate plant selection for the ecology and its applicability.
Only 10 designs from each category will be selected. Each of the 20 selected teams will receive funding of 15,000 baht to turn their design into a real garden on a plywood board 1.2m wide and 2.4m high.
The winning team in the public and student category will receive a trophy from HM the Queen and HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, respectively, and a cash prize worth 40,000 baht.
The first runner-up team of each category will receive 20,000 baht and there are also three consolation prizes worth 7,000 baht each for each category.
Some selected gardens will be displayed at the shopping mall between Nov 29 and Dec 8.
The designs should be submitted to the public relations counter, ground floor of Future Park. Phahon Yothin Road, by Nov 20.
