Five prominent figures in the South Korean performing-arts scene and six local artists are joining to present what they have learned from each other this Sunday. They are currently participating in a short artist-in-residence programme at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) and Korean Cultural Centre, which winds up on Saturday. The week-long programme is part of “Project Next: Thai-Korean Art Exchange” being organised for the first time by the Korea Arts Management Service to give creative types from both countries an opportunity to meet and share ideas. A total of five Koreans (stage director You Young Bong, choreographer/dancer Han Chang Ho, director Lee Jin Yeob, choreographer/dancer Kwak Goeun and musician Lee Jung Hoon) will be engaging with the following Thais: interactive engineer/designer Chaowalit Seabsangin, stage director Dujdao Vadhanapakorn Boonyai, percussionist Maneerut Singhanart plus three performers — Wasu Wanrayangkoon, Sarut Komalittipong and Sasapin Siriwanij. The collaborative project will wrap up with a performance entitled Mannam: Urban Myth to be put on at the BACC on Sunday, starting at 5pm. It will be followed by a talk involving all the artists participating in Project Next. There is no admission fee. To reserve a seat, call 02-651-0165—8 or visit “Mannam: Urban Myth” on Facebook for more information.
